What has walking hundreds of dogs taught me over the last 15 years?
Every dog has taught me something valuable. Each has their own personality, their own walking pace, and their own unique way of enjoying a walk. It’s my job to get to know and understand your dog as an individual so every visit is safe, enjoyable, and tailored to their needs.
I’ve learned over the last 15 years that it’s just as important to understand and earn the trust of the dogs I walk as it is to exercise them. By paying close attention to their body language, personality, and individual needs, I can build that trust and give every dog the care they deserve.
Why Dog Owners Choose Lake Shore Dog Walking
I get to know your dog’s personality: Every great walk starts with getting to know your dog. Some dogs enjoy stopping to smell everything as they stroll through the neighborhood. Others prefer a steady pace. Then there are those who just want to go! By understanding your dog’s personality, energy level, and preferences, I can tailor each walk into an enjoyable and enriching experience
Understanding Your Dog: Every dog is communicating, whether we notice it or not. By understanding their body language, I can better anticipate their needs and recognize when they’re excited, anxious, tired, or simply enjoying the moment. Combined with my Pet First Aid and CPR certification, this allows me to provide walks that are safe, thoughtful, and tailored to your dog’s individual needs.
Trust: Trust is at the heart of everything I do. Inviting someone into your home and trusting them with your pet is a big decision, and it’s a responsibility I never take lightly. Every visit is an opportunity to earn that trust. Whether I’m arriving for a daily walk or caring for your pet while you’re away, you can count on dependable, professional care that gives you complete peace of mind.
A Familiar Face: For many dogs, trust grows one walk at a time. As we get to know each other, I become a familiar part of their routine rather than just someone coming through the door. That familiarity helps dogs feel more relaxed, more confident, and more excited for each visit. One of the most rewarding parts of my job is seeing a dog greet me with excitement because they know it’s time for another adventure together.
